PENNSYLVANIA GOSPEL MUSIC FESTIVAL
HERSHEY, PA
After reading several accounts of the origin of gospel music, one thing is clear…it has been around for a long, long time. By some accounts, its beginnings had roots in the 1700’s in New England and spread down the east coast to the southern states. Aside from Native American music, gospel is considered the original form of American folk music. It comes from three main traditions: Negro spirituals, black gospel and white southern gospel, but has branched out into many sub genres. Whatever one’s preference, this Festival is sure to have something for everyone.
Spread over three days, there will be five sessions…some of the individuals and groups ready to perform are: Aaron Wilburn, the Mark Trammell Quartet, Erwins, The Nelsons, Greater Vision, Blackwood Brothers and TaRanda Greene. There will be Sunday Morning Worship where no tickets are needed.
