It is not too early to start planning for your end-of-the-year getaway to the Hershey area. There are so many things going on during this time of year that we wanted to share the holiday events near Hershey, PA! It is just what you need to get into the celebratory spirit of the season!
What evokes the holidays to you? Is it parades? Or maybe thousands of twinkling lights, shopping, or special concerts? They are back this year! So reserve your holiday escape now!
Hersheypark Christmas Candylane
Dates: November 11, 2022 through January 1, 2023
Location: 100 Hersheypark Dr,, Hershey, PA 17033
We cannot talk about Hershey during the holidays without describing this sweet celebration — Hersheypark Christmas Candyland. The park is decked out with more than five million lights! The special show NOEL has lights synchronized to your favorite carols, and there is a boardwalk of decorated trees.
Weather permitting, the coasters and other rides will be operating, as well; and, you may see Santa and his reindeer! There is a two-mile drive-through display of animated lights that you can enjoy. Presale tickets will be available in early November.
Harrisburg Holiday Parade
Date and Time: November 19, 2022 starting at 10 am
Location: Front and 2nd Streets, from Market to North
Who doesn’t love a parade! The Harrisburg Holiday Parade has giant balloons, decorated floats, marching bands, characters, and, of course, Santa Claus. After the parade, head over to Strawberry Square to meet the man himself, sip hot chocolate, and munch on cookies.
Christmas Tree Exhibition
Dates: November 19, 2022, through January 1, 2023
Location: Hershey Gardens, 170 Hotel Road, Hershey, PA 17033
The Milton and Catherine Hershey Conservatory will have more than a dozen stunning decorated Christmas trees. Each tree will be designed by a different local professional florist with varying themes and styles. The centerpiece will be a 14-foot poinsettia tree in the center.
The Butterfly Atrium and Welcome Pavilion will also have holiday decorations, along with the Garden Cottage area, which is adorned with ornaments made by local students.

Location: Penn Square, Lancaster PA
Downtown Lancaster has nightly Menorah Lightings sponsored by the Jewish Community Alliance. Along with the lighting of the Menorah, come and see the lighting of the Christmas tree, Santa visiting the neighborhoods, and, on December 3, Tuba Christmas!
Concerts and Theater

There are so many choices when it comes to holiday concerts and shows! All of the favorites are here, including Trans Siberian Orchestra, Cirque Dreams Holidaze, Mannheim Steamroller, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Advance tickets are a must.
The Hershey Area Playhouse will perform “Doublewide Texas Christmas,” a hilarious story about the tiniest town in Texas duking it out in the Battle of the Mangers.n adaptation of a Debbie Macomber novel, Can this be Christmas, on December 8 – 11, 2022. In Lancaster, the bible story of David continues to play through the end of the year. The Christmas Tree Ship is a heartwarming story playing on the stage in Bird-in-Hand through December. With so much to choose from, it is hard to decide which to see!
