ANNIE THE MUSICAL

HERSHEY THEATRE

One of America’s most beloved musicals, ANNIE had it’s start at the Alvin Theatre (now known as the Neil Simon Theatre) on Broadway in the year 1977….

Set in the years of the Great Depression, the story of ANNIE runs the gamut of human emotions and conditions…from hopeless to hopeful, greedy to giving, great sadness to wondrous joy. So many stories within stories..lessons learned for all of us….how just one little girl can have such a large effect on so many people. No wonder this musical has been so popular over so many years…and continues to be one of the most popular.

Based upon the book and score by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan, Martin Charnin and Charles Strouse, ANNIE has produce such time-honored songs as “Tomorrow”, “Easy Street”, “I Don’t Need Anything But You”, and “It’s The Hard Knock Life”. Directed by original lyricist and director Martin Charnin and choreographed by Liza Gennaro, the show has been reworked into a wonderful version of the original.
